Experience and Qualifications

My name is John William Wright. I am a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, having been elected an Associate in December 1981 and made a Fellow in November 1994. Registration No: 59804. I can use the designation Chartered Building Surveyor.

I am a Fellow of The Association of Building Engineers having been elected a Fellow on 15th December 1995.

I have an O.N.C. and H.N.C. in Building Construction.

I am in practice on my own account at The Studio, 4 Malt Kiln Road, Plumley, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 0TS.

I was formally with Meller Braggins (a partnership with nine offices) from September 1982, for twenty five years, the last 15 years as a partner and the last 7 years with my own professional office at 17-19 Winnington Street, Northwich, heading Meller Braggins architectural design, surveying, and other professional services. I was the partner in charge of surveying and other professional services, overseeing four qualified surveyors, four part qualified/technician surveyors and support staff. Prior to joining Meller Braggins, I worked for R.S.Hollins Chartered Surveyors for ten years.

I retired from the partnership at Meller Braggins at the end of March 2007, to start my own practice.

I have, throughout my working life, been occupied in surveying, measuring buildings, and land, designing buildings, designing and specifying building projects, inspecting and certifying building work, preparing and submitting plans for Planning and Building Regulation Approval, inspecting defects and recommending remedial work, valued buildings and land, dealt with boundary, building, and property disputes, acted as an expert witness, and other types of surveying services. I carry out survey and valuation work on a day to day basis in Cheshire and south Manchester, and have done so since September 1982.
